Based on my personal experiences as a Navy Corpsman serving alongside the 26th Marine Regiment during the Vietnam Conflict, Full Circle is a memoir that holds a special place in my heart. Written for my parents and family members who were curious about my time in the Navy, I hesitated at first to share my memories from Vietnam. I kept my experiences bottled up inside, trying to move forward and bury the demons that haunted me.

As I entered my thirties, I began to experience health issues such as chest pains, shortness of breath, and depression. After being diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), I realized that the war had left a lasting impact on my life. Even now, in my senior years, thoughts of Vietnam still linger in my mind.

The sights and sounds of Vietnam are forever etched in my memory. The sound of a Huey helicopter overhead brings me back to the battlefield, while the smell of rain reminds me of nights spent cold and wet. The buzzing of a mosquito makes me instinctively reach for cover, and sudden loud noises trigger memories of seeking shelter from incoming attacks.

Reflecting on the young faces of the Marines who never made it home, I can't help but feel grateful for the experiences that have shaped me into the person I am today. Full Circle captures the trials and tribulations of my time in Vietnam, from the moments of sheer terror to the unbearable boredom.

As I recall the challenges of daily life in Vietnam - the heat, rain, bugs, and constant fear - I am reminded of the sacrifices made by myself and my fellow servicemen. The book is a tribute to our shared experiences, a reminder of the struggles we faced and the bonds we forged in the midst of war.

Now, as we Vietnam veterans grow older and prepare to pass on, our stories serve as a testament to our resilience and courage. Full Circle is my way of honoring the memories of those who served alongside me, and a reminder that the scars of war may fade, but the memories will always remain.
