Circle Necklace

At night, I wake up in the middle of the night and instinctively reach for my writing pad in the darkness. Scribbling down my thoughts, I find it challenging to decipher them the following morning. If I were to turn on the light, these fleeting thoughts would vanish as quickly as they came, bringing me back to reality. It is during these late-night sessions that my best ideas emerge, my mind is sharp, and even the tiniest details are vividly recalled.

The majority of these thoughts center around my early childhood, my experiences during the war, and the hardships that defined that period of my life. In the light of day, these memories are buried deep within my mind, as I often try to avoid revisiting those challenging years. However, reflecting on my past is crucial not only to understand where I come from but also to appreciate the journey that has brought me to where I am now.

Looking back at the past allows me to fully embrace and enjoy the present, as well as look forward to the future. Remembering where I have been gives me a sense of gratitude for the life I now lead and a newfound perspective on the struggles that have shaped me. Though my past may be behind me, it remains an integral part of who I am today, and by acknowledging it, I can continue to grow and evolve.
